Sims graduated from New World School of the Arts. She created and performed in the short dance film 'Sadist Observation' (made possible through New World School of the Arts) which was presented in the Artists of Tomorrow Festival 2003 in NYC and is currently in the archives in the Jerome Robbins section of the Library of the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center through the Dance on Camera Festival. She has also choreographed on dancers from Martha Graham Contemporary Dance Company, Dance Theater of Harlem, Parsons Dance Company, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Taylor 2 Dance Company, Paris Opera Ballet and Munich Ballet. She is a 2008 grant recipient from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. Her short films 'Jacqueline Bulnes' and 'Wall Space' were shown in the MementoVivere Festival in Italy and Romania during June 2009. In Venice, Italy June 2010 she presented 'Orchestra' in La Biennale di Venezia's 7th International Festival of Contemporary Dance, Marathon of the Unexpected. Her short dance film ‘Une Minute Embrasse’ was presented in the festival VideoDanzaBA in Buenos Aires, Argentina September 2010, Stratford Fringe Film Festival in England, Court-BOUILLON Film Festival in France, and NYC Short Film Festival 2011. She was nominated for the Talented New Director Award through the 2013 London International Film Festival for the feature film 'Exploring Hinterland' which is available on Amazon.com. She presented in Art Basel Miami 2013, where her work was featured in Vogue Italia, and NY Frieze Week 2014 through Select Fair which was featured in the New York Times. Commercials she has directed have appeared in the US on BET, MTV, VH1, and The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
